1 0x Research: $67.5 Billion BTC and $19 Billion ETH Withdrawn from Exchanges Last Month
In their latest report, 1 0x Research stated that Bitcoin is nearing its range top and facing challenges to break its all-time high. This can be attributed to the Bitcoin halving event on April 20th. Following the halving, stablecoin minting has significantly slowed down, leading to a decrease in the number of wallets holding over $10 million in stablecoins, hindering Bitcoin from reaching new highs. In the past month, a record amount of Bitcoin ($67.5 billion) was withdrawn from exchanges (a decrease of 97,000 BTC). This massive outflow was primarily driven by two US-focused exchanges: Kraken (a decrease of 55,000 BTC, approximately $38 billion) and Coinbase (a decrease of 24,000 BTC, approximately $17 billion). Last week, $7.71 billion was withdrawn from exchanges, a significant number compared to the 13,500 BTC issued last month. The only exchange with a large inflow of funds was Bitfinex (72,000 BTC). In contrast, Bitcoin spot ETFs purchased around $39 billion worth of Bitcoin (56,000 BTC) last month. Additionally, a significant amount of Ethereum worth $19 billion was withdrawn from exchanges last month. Inflows came from Binance and Coinbase, while outflows came from Bitfinex and Kraken. In the past week, only $56 million worth of Ethereum was withdrawn from exchanges, indicating a significant slowdown in outflows and decreasing demand for Ethereum in various forms.

Uniswap Founder: Ethereum L2 Should Not Focus on Immutability Until L1 is Ready
Uniswap founder Hayden Adams wrote on the X platform yesterday that L2 chains focusing on Ethereum scaling should not prioritize immutability until the Ethereum blockchain is ready. Adams stated, “Ethereum L2 should not be immutable. It’s been 10 years, and L1 has not prepared for immutability.” He further added that expecting L2 networks to “never upgrade or force large-scale migrations again” is “meaningless.” He explained, “If some migrate and some don’t, the nature of how users and applications interact on L2 chains will disrupt composability.” The Ethereum Foundation has stated that L2 chains are part of its scaling plan, with NFT market Rarible’s ecosystem lead Jonathan Colón calling L2 networks a “money grab.” Adams responded, “The whole plan to scale Ethereum is ‘L2’, either make them work or change the roadmap (I prefer the former). Calling them a money grab or saying they need immutability won’t change that. They’re costly to build, and L1 hasn’t funded this work.”

We will definitely complete most of them, but may not be able to complete all, so I want to ensure we receive high-quality reports.”
